RFK Jr. Explains Why JFKs Assassination Has Not Been Declassified

All correct. And as he indicates; and as I have written and spoken many times over the years; it is only a small piece of that complex matter.

Note CIA Angleton; head of Counter; is mentioned. He orchestrated The JFK Murder under the control of CIA Scherff.

All that followed would not have occurred had Scherff been immediately hung from a lamp post, as he himself intimated.

The very foolish notion of institutional protection protects nothing. It empowers more of the same, engenders an air of invisibility and accountability, and moves perpetrators to greater wrongs in a natural psychotic momentum.

At this moment: US Intel believes it can take out Trump; who they fear; any time they want. They forget that they have already tried this eight times and against Melania once. I have written about the latter.

One of the many problem...

Aboriginal elders from across Australia tell the Labor socialists they do not want a divisive Voice referendum "IndyWatch Feed Capricornia"

On Wednesday I was proud to host at Parliament House 22 Aboriginal leaders and community members from right across the country.

They travelled far, some of them for two days, just to get to Canberra and have their voices heard.

This delegation of proud Australians, which was organised by the Fair Australia no campaign, met with Nationals Leaders David Littleproud and Senator Bridget McKenzie.

They met with Leader of the Coalition Peter Dutton, and with Shadow Minister for Indigenous Australians Julian Leeser.

They met with countless Senators and Representatives from the Nationals, the Liberals, One Nation, the UAP and a few independents who all went out of their way to speak with the delegation and hear their voices.

But where was the Prime Minister?

Where was the Minister for Indigenous Australians?

Where was anyone from the Labor Party?

They didnt have time for these voices.

Why? Because these voices werent saying what the Labor Party wanted to hear.

These voices dont support Labors Voice. These voices dont support constitutional division. These voices dont want a dangerous undermining of our equality.

You can see what they had to say here:

https://www.facebook.com/fairgoforall/videos/766039188392796/

And a day after ignoring 22 voices that travelled days to get to Canberra, Albo unveiled his plan for the Voice referendum.

At the very first opportunity to show that the so-called voice will not ride roughshod over the Government, they folded.

The human cost of the green revolution "IndyWatch Feed National"

My latest investigation in Declassified Australia is about one of Australias richest men, Andrew Forrest, and his attempt to develop green hydrogen in the Democratic Republic of Congo:

Australian mining billionaire Andrew Forrest wants to make himself a champion of green energy by building an US$80 billion mega-dam to develop green hydrogen in one of the worlds poorest and war-ravaged countries.

The Fortescue Future Industries plans, if they go ahead, are feared to have significant irreversible social and environmental impacts on indigenous people and communities.

Local land-owning communities in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), who would welcome development and cheaper power, have already come up against the projects secrecy. They say they are being sidelined and divided, and their voices and community needs prevented from being heard.

Fishing communities, that depend on the river planned to be dammed, are already suffering water level drops from increased drought. It seems fixing the worlds climate change problems with green hydrogen will not be victim-free. Green hydrogen has become a multi-billion dollar gamble by some of the worlds biggest investors and polluting miners.

Declassified Australia has been told by sources in the DRC that locals in the affected areas have been left in the dark about the company and governments intentions. Theyve been given no guarantees of support or relocation and they fear having their land taken away.

The parallels with Fortescues impact on indigenous land-owners in Western Australia are alarming. In 2017, the Yindjibarndi people of the Pilbara area, following a years-long fight against Forrests plans for massive new iron ore mines, won a court casethat finally granted them access to their cultural sites and a guaranteed community income.

But Fortescue baulked and tried to fight them in the courts. Negotiations between the two sides broke down in 2021 and today Yindjibarndi Aboriginal Corporation chief executive Michael Woodley is still demanding compensation for mining on their land.

Forrest is facing a growing chorus of...

Federal Government has UN mandate to own all Australian property and Voice making way for the ALP republik "IndyWatch Feed Capricornia"

Letter to the Editor

The Labor Party is not being open and truthful as to the real reason it is conducting this referendum.

The UN has has given the Federal Government a mandate of ownership of housing, farms, property and business to government once a Republic has been proclaimed. The UN is NWO in waiting for a One World Government.

The push for the Voice is a very important part of their plan which is to include ORIGINAL men, women and children of this country because at the moment they have NO CONTRACT with the ORIGINAL men, women and children of this country.. Because there is no contract with the indigenous people of Australia, a republic would not be achieved because the ORIGINAL men, women and children are the lawful land owners and the government would be unable to take control over ownership of housing, farms, property and business, thus thwarting its secretive push for a totalitarian republic where you would own nothing and be happy.

This plan was already underway back in 1990. Every State in Australia has already sold off the Lands and Title Office, your original titles have been destroyed. The value of your property is in the TITLE. All properties certificate of titles has been digitised and this is not a lawful proof of historical ownership.

A YES vote will change the Constitution by referendum.. I hope the Aboriginal people can see what is happening

Thats the main gist of the message that I copied from the Telegram site.. apart from a couple of paras I dont know if its on Bosis website.. perhaps someone could check

Someone familiar with, or expert in, Constitutional law, will know the meaning of all this

Ask Queensland Labor what happened to all parchment land titles? Editor

Air Niugini Receives Certificate of Accreditation on Dangerous Goods Training "IndyWatch Feed Niugini"

Air Niugini has received its Certificate of Accreditation on Dangerous Goods (DG) training from International Air Transport Association (IATA), focusing on Competency-based Training and Assessments (CBTA) guidelines. This is a first, for an airline in PNG!

Air Niuginis Acting Chief Executive Officer, Gary Seddon said the accreditation followed a stringent review of the dangerous goods regulations.

CBTA is a new, mandated method of conducting and assessing DG training by International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and IATA.

He said The accreditation means the Air Niugini Training school can provide internationally recognized dangerous goods training qualifications with co-branded IATA certification. This further supports Air Niuginis DG training reputation across the region.

The IATA accreditation process is an intensive one and I commend all Air Niugini staff involved, Mr Seddon said.

Dangerous goods are restricted articles, hazardous materials and items that may endanger the safety of persons on board the aircraft.

Dangerous Goods training therefore provides technical knowledge, procedures and process to ensure the highest safety standards to satisfy ICAO /IATA/CASA PNG Regulatory requirements.

Air Niugini provides DG training internally to its staff and externally to organisations with dangerous goods cargo requirements including airlines, mining companies, fuel companies, RPNGC, PNGDF, Hospitals, and companies such as Hevi-Lift, OTML, SANTOS, PUMA Energy, WHO, Fedex/TNT and DHL.

For all dangerous goods training requirements, please contact the Air Niugini Training Centre on telephone numbers (675) 3273573.

PNG Authorities apprehend Chinese man for allegedly Transporting Narcotics into Lae "IndyWatch Feed Niugini"

A 42-year-old male Chinese national was apprehended by PNG authorities at the Lae airport,  on Wednesday, 22nd of March 2023, while trying to board a plane out of Lae, Morobe province.

Hes alleged to be among the suspects involved in the transportation of narcotics including drug substances between Australia and Papua New Guinea.

Hes currently detained and is being questioned by police.

Lae City [Photo by Manu Bobola]

At the same time, five men were apprehended in Queensland, Australia, after the plane landed from P-N-G loaded with 52 kilograms of methamphetamine.

This follows the investigations into a small undetected aircraft or Black Flight which left Bulolo at around 8am on Tuesday, allegedly loaded with narcotics.

The suspicious flight prompted the investigators of Operation Gepard, a covert operation by the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary and Australian Federal Police, running since November last year, to track down the black flight and place surveillance on certain suspected properties and persons.

According to the Director General of the National Narcotics Centre, Donald Yamasombi, the black flight is part of international criminal syndicates that smuggle illicit substances across Australia through PNG over time.

ACP Yamasombi told the media that the RPNGC and AFP have embarked on joint operation 'Gepard' to combat transnational crimes not only in PNG and Australia but the greater Pacific as well.

These are international crime syndicates as far as we can see, and we will not stop at any cost as these investigations are of importance to us in the law enforcement space,'' said Yamasombi.

The suspects involved in these drug deals are believed to be both nationals and expatriates, however, there are a number of persons of interest that RPNGC is looking into at the moment.

Mr. Yamasombi acknowledged the strong partnership between RPNGC and AFP in combating transnational crimes in the region over the years.

The gift of giving: happiness-altruism connection "IndyWatch Feed Capricornia"

Australia has ranked 12, while Finland sits at number 1 when it comes to happiest countries across the globe, according to the 2023 World Happiness Report, released earlier this week.

Despite disruption to social and emotional lives during the crux of the pandemic years, more people reported acts of everyday kindness like helping a stranger, donating to charity and volunteering than pre-Covid times. The report says acts of kindness and altruism have been linked to greater happiness and wellbeing.

Harmony Day and whitewashing cultural narratives "IndyWatch Feed Capricornia"

This year, the Australian Government decided to extend Harmony Day to Harmony Week.

However, across the world, 21 March is known as The International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination a day of mourning which the United Nations says is observed annually on the day the police in Sharpeville, South Africa, opened fire and killed 69 people at a peaceful demonstration against apartheid.

According to the UN, the day marks the beginning of a week of solidarity with the peoples struggling against racism and racial discrimination.

So why are we clinging onto Harmony Day, a Howard-era rebranding of this global solidarity movement to end racism? We speak to National director of Democracy in Colour Neha Madhok to find out more.

Pride in Protest calls for solidarity following Sydney protestors being rushed by mob "IndyWatch Feed Capricornia"

Reports have emerged that further corroborate allegations that a group of queer rights protestors were attacked by a mob in Sydneys south-west.

The small group, from Community Action for Rainbow Rights, were gathering to rally against New South Wales One Nation leader Mark Lathams policies targeting transgender people outside a church where he was speaking.

This comes days after a group showing up for trans rights clashed with anti-transgender campaigners outside of Victorias Parliament, following a talk by controversial UK gender activist Kellie-Jay Keen. During this incident, a group of around 30 men marched down Spring Street repeatedly performing the nazi salute.

The Wire speaks to Charlie Murphy from grassroots organisation Pride in Protest about the blatant, rising wave of transphobia and violence towards marginalised groups.

Imperial Visits: US Emissaries in the Pacific "IndyWatch Feed Niugini"

Australian Independent Media Binoy Kampmark 19 Mar 23

For some time, Washington has been losing its spunk in the Pacific. When it comes to the Pacific Islands, a number have not fallen at least entirely for the rhetoric that Beijing is there to take, consume, and dominate all. Nor have such countries been entirely blind to their own sharpened interests. This largely aqueous region, which promises to submerge them in the rising waters of climate change, has become furiously busy.

A number of officials are keen to push the line that Washingtons policy towards the Pacific is clearly back where it should be. Its all part of the warming strategy adopted by the Biden administration, typified by the US-Pacific Island Country summit held last September. In remarks made during the summit, President Joe Biden stated that the security of America, quite frankly, and the world, depends on your security and the security of the Pacific Islands. And I really mean that.

Not once was China mentioned, but its ghostly presence stalked Bidens words. A new Pacific Partnership Strategy was announced, the first national US strategy for [the] Pacific Islands. Then came the promised cash: some $810 million in expanded US programs including more than $130 million in new investments to support, among other things, climate resilience, buffer the states against the impact of climate change and improve food security.

The Pacific Islands have also seen a flurry of recent visits. In January this year, US Indo-Pacific military commander Admiral John Aquilino popped into Papua New Guinea to remind the good citizens of Port Moresby that the eyes of the US were gazing benignly upon them. It was his first to the country, and the public affairs unit of the US Indo-Pacific Command stated that it underscored the importance of the US-Papua New Guinea relationship and showed US resolve toward building a more peaceful, stable, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region.

In February, a rather obvious strategic point was made in the reopening of the US embassy in the Solomon Islands. Little interest had been shown towards the island state for some three decades (the embassy had been closed in 1993). But then came Beijing doing, at least from Washingtons perspective, the unpardonable thing of poking around and seeking influence.

Now, Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare finds himself at the centre of much interest, at least till he falls out of favour in the airconditioned corridors of Washington&#8230...

Sunny Coaster needs advice on where to move to... "IndyWatch Feed Capricornia"

Sunny Coaster here. I've been in Melbourne looking after a dying parent for more years than expected and by the time i've returned to the coast - it's gone from a 150,000 population to 300,000 and is full of southerners - everything I loved about living there feels lost. Hoping to move further north to regain some space and quiet although I am in no doubt it's grown there too.

Looking for a quarter acre or so. Lots of tree's and silence. I don't want to see or hear neighbours too close to the home - not being rude - just value the quiet. Happy to be 30+ mins from the city but would like water closer. I am an avid fisherman and gardener so land to start a huge veggie patch is top of the list. Couple in our 40s - no kids and no need for schools or any of that crap. Just quiet - a shop or 2 nearby and Rusty's on the weekend is fine for us.

I'm thinking of outskirts suburbs like the back end of Redlynch/Smithfield + Kerrawa - keeping west of the highway without heading as deep inland as Kuranda as I hear the road getting in and out of that place is a nightmare?!

I'm heading up for a quick reccie trip in a couple of weeks - I was wondering if there are other areas you can suggest I check out.

Cheers heaps for your time

EDIT: We need to stay within ab out 45-50 mins from Cairns CBD as it's where my other half has work. Thanks for the Cooktown suggestions though

De-Banking Journalists "IndyWatch Feed National"

Honest journalism has become a crime. I have appeared numerous times on Maria Zarics program, Zeee Media. Maria is a professional journalist who asks thought-provoking questions to the experts that appear on her show. Her content goes against the grain and traditional narrative. The Australian-based journalist has been questioning COVID, the Great Reset, governments, globalists, the war in Ukraine, and many other topics that are completely taboo in the mainstream media. They attempted to shut down her channel in the past. Now, she has been de-banked with no explanation.

Do you shut down peoples accounts due to their political views by any chance? Maria asked the bank representative, only to be met with silence. Maria had been banking with ING Bank for numerous years without issues. Her account was suddenly shut down shortly after releasing a story on domestic terrorism in Australia. ING Bank has been unable to explain why her account was canceled.

Interestingly, ING is a partner of the World Economic Forum. Maria has extensively covered the WEFs agenda to enslave humanity. Is Australia secretly keeping track of journalists social credit scores to silence skepticism?

The idea of eliminating someones ability to bank is essentially eliminating them from society. We saw Canada do the same thing to those protesting the Trucker Convoy. Trudeau took things a step further by also de-banking people who simply donated to the cause. The Canadian government used the premise of money laundering as a way to coerce the banks into reporting any activity that could have been intended to help the protestors. I know of numerous people who were frantically attempting to remove their funds from the bank during this time.

As if the public needed more reasons to lose trust in the banking system. This is not limited to one bank or country. I discussed how banks have the ability to cancel someone after JPMorgan Chase de-banked the rapper K...

the 1933 Bank Holiday Can it Happen Again? "IndyWatch Feed National"

QUESTION: Marty there are a lot of people who seem to be trying to create a panic. Some are claiming the stock market will plunge by 50%. Others are saying nothing will survive other than gold. It seems like none of these people have any sense of what is really unfolding. They were saying the same thing for different reasons before the banking crisis. Can you offer any historical perspective?

Thank you. You seem to be the only real source these days.

Pete

ANSWER: The Bank Holiday took place the first week of March 1933. It began with governors closing down the banks in their states. Once one began, like COVID rules, they quickly jumped on the bandwagon. As reported by March 4th, 1933, some 41 states had already declared a banking holiday. Back then, the president took office in March not January. Thus, Roosevelt was sworn in on March 4th, 1933. As the new president, FDR delivered what is arguably his best-known speech.

So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear isfear itself nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance. In every dark hour of our national life a leadership of frankness and of vigor has met with that understanding and support of the people themselves which is essential to victory. And I am convinced that you will again give that support to leadership in these critical days.

The Fed Does Not Back Down "IndyWatch Feed National"

COMMENT: Marty, its refreshing to have Socrates that is totally unbiased. It projected continued rising rates into next year and the Fed just proved its point. It is not backing down.

Thank you. Socrates is very enlightening.

GS

ANSWER: I know there were a lot of talks that surely the Fed had to lower rates and start QE all over again. Most of those sorts of comments have no real experience in markets. They just mouth a lot of hot air. Perhaps instead of putting masks on cows, we should do that on the shills. The Federal Reserve had no choice but to raise interest rates although it was just by a quarter point. Not to do so and the Fed would lose all credibility and the market would then not take them seriously.

You MUST understand that this crisis has unfolded because too many banks were wrapped up in WOKE culture and hired people who were UNQUALIFIED to run risk management. Some were more excited about cross-dressing as a woman and winning the Rainbow award in banking than actually protecting the bank from the risk of rising interest rates.

In a statement released at the conclusion of the meeting, Fed officials acknowledged that recent financial market turmoil is weighing on inflation and the economy, though they expressed confidence in the overall system. The US banking system is sound and resilient. They had no choice but to make this statement.

Recent developments are likely to result in tighter credit conditions for households and businesses and to weigh on economic activity, hiring and inflation. The extent of these effects is uncertain.

The Fed is saying that their rise in rates will in fact reduce inflation and economic activity. Th...

The idea that these neo-Nazis are just cosplayers, attempt by numerous lone wolves and paramilitary groups to seize control of multiple countries, is too dangerous to seriously contemplate. And, just as importantly, why do neo-Nazis show up to support them?

Xi and Putin meeting shows the world of western dominance is coming to an end "IndyWatch Feed National"

Contributed by Joe Montero

The recent visit by Chinas Xi Jinping to Moscow and his meeting with Russias leader Vladimir Putin as an important event. On one side, it heralds a new level of the relationship between the two nations.  On the other, it marks a new chapter in the realignment of global politics and power, and this will effect all nation, including Australia.

Wisdom suggests that taking note of this and its implications is a very good idea.

There are two very different interpretations. One peddled by the United States and  its satellites is that China and Russia are trying to destroy the rules based order and take over the world, and they must be stopped. This has been broadcast loudly be most of the big corporate media in the nations where governments singing this song. They beat up about inevitable conflict and the prospect of war. In fact, its most zealous proponents are calling for war.

Just what it this rule based order? In reality it is a system where the West, principally the United States, position themselves as the custodians of civilisation, democracy, and freedom. Control over the rules and processes that administer economics, international trade, finance, politics, and military affairs was imposed.

Since Bretton Woods system was put in place in 1944, global trade has been administered by institutions that serve it. The two most prominent ones are the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank. Gold and the U.S. Dollar were cemented as the medium for international exchange. Those who did not sign onto Bretton Woods, or excluded, were locked out of the global economy. To be included meant to come submit to demands of the United States.

Todays champions of the rules-based system are really calling for a continuation of this system and defending the interests of the dominant power.

There are echoes of nineteenth and twentieth century colonialism here. The existing rules system benefits some at the cost of others and preserves the right of a few to interfere in the concerns of others.

The meeting between Xi and Putin was one...

Why I dont believe there ever was a Covid virus "IndyWatch Feed National"

By Dr Mike Yeadon | TCW Defending Freedom | March 22, 2023

Ive grown increasingly frustrated about the way debate is controlled around the topic of origins of the alleged novel virus, SARS-CoV-2, and I have come to disbelieve its ever been in circulation, causing massive scale illness and death. Concerningly, almost no one will entertain this possibility, despite the fact that molecular biology is the easiest discipline in which to cheat. Thats because you really cannot do it without computers, and sequencing requires complex algorithms and, importantly, assumptions. Tweaking algorithms and assumptions, you can hugely alter the conclusions.

This raises the question of why there is such an emphasis on the media storm around Fauci, Wuhan and a possible lab escape. After all, the perpetrators have significant control over the media. Theres no independent journalism at present. It is not as though they need to embarrass the establishment.  I put it to readers that theyve chosen to do so.

So who do I mean by they and the perpetrators?  There are a number of candidates competing for this position, with their drug company accomplices, several of whom are named in Paula Jardines excellent five-part series for TCW, Anatomy of the sinister Covid project. High on the list is the enabling World Economic Forum and their many political acolytes including Justin Trudeau and Jacinda Aderne.

But that doesnt answer the question why are they focusing on the genesis of the virus. In my view, they are doing their darnedest to make sure you regard this event exactly as they want you to. Specifically, that there was a novel virus.

Im not alone in believing that myself at the beginning of the pandemic, but over time Ive seen sufficient evidence to cast strong doubt on that idea. Additionally, when considered as part of a global coup dtat, I have put myself in the position of the most senior, hidden perpetrators. In a Q&A, they would learn that the effect of a released novel pathogen couldnt be predicted accurately. It might burn out rapidly. Or it might turn out to be quite a lot more lethal than theyd expected, demolishing advanced civilisations. Those top decision-makers would, I submit, conclude that this natural risk is intolerable to them. They crave total control, and the wide range of possible outcomes from a deliberate release militates against this plan of action: No, were not going to do this. Come back with a plan with very much reduced uncertainty on outcomes.

The alternative I think theyve used is to add one more lie to the tall stack of lies which has s....

Apartheid in South Africa was quite enlightened "IndyWatch Feed Capricornia"

By Ron Chapman

From 1970 the budget for black education was raised by about 30% per year every year. More than any other government department.

From 1955 -1984 the amount of black school students increased 31 times from 35,000 to 1,096 000.

At the height of Apartheid in 1978 Soweto had 115 football fields, 3 Rugby fields, 4 athletic tracks, 11 Cricket fields, 2 Golf courses, 47 Tennis courts, 7 swimming pools built to Olympic standards, 5 Bowling alleys, 81 Netball fields, 39 children play parks, and countless civic halls, movie houses and clubhouses.

65% of black South African children were at school compared to Egypt 64%, Nigeria 57%, Ghana52%, Tanzania50% and Ethiopia 29%.
Amongst the adults of South Africa, 71% could read and write (80% between the ages 12 and 22). In South Africa, the whites built 15 new classrooms for blacks every working day, every year. At 40 children per class it meant space for an additional 600 black students every day!

In 1985 there were 42,000 Blacks at 5 universities in South Africa, about the same amount at the universities of the homelands (another 40,000 at another five).

An article called Die Afrikaner 11 Feb 1987, the quarterly magazine called Vox Africana Nr 29 4/87 stated that South Africa had 4,8 million whites and 18,2 million blacks in 1987. The whites paid 77% of the taxes and the blacks only 15%despite this56% of the government budget was spent on blacks.

Juveniles Locked Up for Life Will Get a Second Chance in New Mexico. But the State Must Locate Them First. "IndyWatch Feed National"

ProPublica is a nonprofit newsroom that investigates abuses of power. Sign up for Dispatches, a newsletter that spotlights wrongdoing around the country, to receive our stories in your inbox every week.

Over the weekend, New Mexico abolished life without parole prison sentences for juveniles, affirming that people who make even the most serious mistakes as teenagers should have a second chance. The new law, signed by Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, also requires that current prisoners serving decades behind bars for crimes they committed as minors get a parole hearing.

ProPublica reported earlier this month that the New Mexico Corrections Department had lost track of at least 21 juvenile lifers, apparently unaware of who the eligible prisoners are, where they are and how they will be identified for the parole hearings that they now, under the law, deserve.

In a statement Monday in response to ProPublicas reporting, Grishams office said that the corrections agency, which answers to the governor, is working to screen all prisoners in its custody who are serving life sentences, in order to compile a list of those newly eligible for parole.

The effort to find them may require the department to go back through the individual court records of prisoners who entered NMCD custody at or around 18 years old including some who are now being held in out-of-state facilities to see if their crime was committed before that age. It also will mean working with the ACLU of New Mexico, which has led the effort to identify these individuals.

The New Mexico law is premised on multiple recent Supreme Court decisions and studies of brain science that have found that kids are impulsive, prone to risk-taking, bad at understanding the consequences of their actions and highly susceptible to peer pressure (often committing their offenses among groups of friends), all of which make them less culpable than adults when they commit crimes. They are also,...

Blackout: Sy Hersh Says US, Germany Coordinated NYT False Cover Story for Nord Stream Bombing "IndyWatch Feed National"

By Fantine Gardinier Sputnik 22.03.2023

On September 26, 2022, a massive explosion ripped through the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines on the Baltic seabed, severing a major natural gas connection and releasing colossal amounts of methane. The US had long objected to the line, which runs from Russia to Germany, urging Europe to buy more expensive US gas instead.

A new report by investigative journalist Seymour Hersh lays blame at the feet of US and German intelligence for a New York Times article claiming it was Ukrainian terrorists, not US Navy divers, who bombed the Nord Stream pipeline last September. Hersh said it was part of a coordinated blackout of his expose of Washingtons role in the attack.

There is no evidence that any reporter assigned there has yet to ask the White House press secretary whether Biden had done what any serious leader would do: formally task the American intelligence community to conduct a deep investigation, with all of its assets, and find out just who had done the deed in the Baltic Sea, Hersh wrote on Wednesday.

According to a source within the intelligence community, the president has not done so, nor will he, the journalist asserted. Why not? Because he knows the answer.

Hersh pointed to a curious meeting in Washington earlier this month between Biden and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in which both media and aides were almost totally absent.

There have been no statements or written understandings made public since then by either government, but I was told by someone with access to diplomatic intelligence that there was a discussion of the pipeline expos and, as a result, certain elements in the Central Intelligence Agency were asked to prepare a cover story in collaboration with German intelligence that would provide the American and German press with an alternative version for the destruction of Nord Stream 2, Hersh wrote.

In the words of the intelligence community, the agency was to pulse the system in an effort to discount the claim that Biden had ordered the pipelines destruction, he explained.

Indeed, The New York Times, which was one of two newspapers that ran the story, has admitted in the past to letting the CIA proofread certain stories before publishing them.

Along with the NYT, which published an article on March 7 claiming a pro-Ukrainian group might have been behind the pipeline explosion, the German weekly Der Zeit published a companion piece that same day claiming German investigative officials had found a luxury yacht chartered by a group of Ukrainians under false pretenses in the area of the explosions just a few wee...

White House Releases Economic Report On Bitcoin: Here's What They Got Wrong "IndyWatch Feed National"

The latest report from the Biden Administration writes off the benefits of Bitcoin while ignoring the fundamentals and economic activity that give it value.

The White House has released the extensive Economic Report of the President, which included a section titled Digital Assets: Relearning Economic Principles. This section detailed Bitcoin, its functionality and various possible benefits that proponents claim for this popularity of crypto assets.

The proponents claims the report intends to address vary from crypto assets serving as investment vehicles and enabling fast digital payments, to improving the United States current financial technology infrastructure. The report then addresses the Reality of Crypto Assets, as the section is so titled, setting the record straight in the eyes of the Administration.

Compared with many other asset types, crypto assets are very volatile, and, hence, highly risky, the report begins with. Because they are very volatile, crypto assets can be used for speculation, an investment strategy that seeks to make a profit from short-run trading. One reason many crypto assets are highly volatile is that many of them do not have a fundamental value. It then goes on to provide the example of stocks and debt, comparing them to unbacked crypto assets [that] are traded without fundamental anchors, suggesting that their market prices only reflect speculative demand, or market sentiment, not claims on cash flow.

In between this and the next statement, is an interjection Box 8-2 which details How Does Bitcoin Work? This box, coincidentally, may serve as the answer to the question of, what is Bitcoins fundamental value? in its description of the inner workings of Bitcoin.

Straw manning bitcoins proponents, the report then goes on to state that one of the purported benefits of crypto assets like bitcoin was to hedge against inflation, meaning that their value does not erode as inflation increases. But as inflation increased globally in the second half of 2021 and in 2022, the prices of crypto assets collapsed, proving them to be, at best, an ineffective inflation hedge. While the inflation narrative surrounding the 2020-2021 bull market did prove a distraction, the price of bitcoin still soared during the pandemic, reaching all time highs of $69,000. Famous person found to have ordinary genetic history "IndyWatch Feed National"

Its only about 200 years old, pulling a DNA sequence out of a hair sample is a piece of cake. So Beethovens DNA has been sequenced. He even gave permission!

In 1802, German composer Ludwig van Beethoven wrote a heart-wrenching letter to his brothers, describing the deafness that forced him to live like an exile and yearn for death. Beethoven kept going for another 25 years, propelled by his music, but he begged them to have his hearing loss studied and publicized, so that so far as possible, the world may be reconciled to me after my death.

Two centuries later, a team of international researchers has answered that plea by sequencing Beethovens DNA, preserved in locks of his hair that collaborators and fans collected as treasured keepsakes.

The central ailment of Beethovens life was his hearing loss, which began in his mid-20s. He also suffered from debilitating gastrointestinal symptoms and attacks of jaundice. An autopsy revealed that he had cirrhosis of the liver, pancreatitis and a swollen spleen. Medical biographers have debated what killed him and whether his liver disease was the result of excessive drinking or some other cause.

There are limits to what you can do with DNA. They found no genetic evidence for his hearing loss. They did find signs of a susceptibility to liver disease, and that he had hepatitis B. There is absolutely no indication of a genetic source for his musical talent. Id go so far as to say it is silly to select a 19th century person for a genetic analysis on the basis of musical ability, which is mostly going to be due to circumstance, rather than intrinsic nature (there may be exceptions, like the heritability of perfect pitch, but even that is pretty wobbly.

They did discover something that ol Ludwig Van would not have anticipated and probably wouldnt want advertized.

The analysis also yielded a surprise: Beethovens Y chromosome didnt match those from living relatives. The common relative they all share was Aert van Beethoven, who lived in the 16th century. Somewhere in the seven generations between Aert and Ludwig van Beethoven, a woman in the family tree had a child with an unknown man, and Beethoven seems to be a descendant of that pairing.

Weve probably all got evidence of ancestral indiscretions in our genes, though, so that shouldnt reflect on Beethoven, or on his unidentified female ancestor.

The Trump legal circus goes on and on "IndyWatch Feed National"

I have been avoiding much of the news about the possible indictments of Donald Trump because prosecutors offices tend to be pretty tight-lipped, so the constant speculation about if or when he will be indicted, by whom and for what, tends to be fact-free and thus of not much value. One might as well wait until something actually happens. But then last week Trump himself said that he expects to be indicted and also arrested on Tuesday by the Manhattan district attorney on the recommendation of the grand jury looking into his case and that caused a media frenzy. It is not clear if Trump had some inside source for this news or whether he was also guessing and simply trying to rally support in the event that he does get indicted soon.

Tuesday came and went with no indictment. Since the grand jury only meets on Mondays and Wednesday, that would make today the possible day. I do not how how the process works in detail but I would have thought that in complex, high-profile cases it would take at least a day or two after the grand jury ends its deliberations and delivers its verdict for the DA to prepare and file an indictment, so I would not expect anything today either.

Trump had called on his supporters to protest but according to news reports, police, media, and anti-Trump protestors outnumbered pro-Trump supporters outside the Manhattan DAs office on Tuesday. Some of the pro-Trump protestors even looked like they were not sincere supporters but performance artists. I can well understand his supporters being a little cautious this time around. Many of them are bitter that after they responded to his call to protest on January 6th 2021, he did not march with them to the Capitol as he had promised and for a short while even seemed to abandon them. The fact that so many of them have been prosecuted, convicted, and jailed, ruining their lives, must have a cooling effect on their passions.

So did Trump get wrong information? It is possible that the DA had planned to do something on Tuesday but deferred it in order to defuse any gathering of the Trump supporters. Or it is possible that Trump simply made up the story (he has absolutely no regard for the truth) in order to fund-raise. He has already sent out appeals to his followers. It is also possible that he wanted to shift attention to himself and away from the retreat being held in Florida by Republican members of Congress to plan their strategy. If so, it worked. Speaker Kevin McCarthy had to answer questions about the possible indictment instead of what his party was discussing.

Whatever his reasons, the discussion among the chattering classes...

Labor has no mandate, it took government by default "IndyWatch Feed Capricornia"

Letter to the Editor

The new Labor/Greens Government appears to be in complete denial! They actually believe that THEY won the election, and have been given a mandate to do whatever they want?

The TRUTH is, the FACT is, Labor only achieved 32% of the vote,.68% of Australians did NOT vote for Labor (36% voted for the Coalition!)!

The Labor/Greens Government, again in denial, are also claiming that it was a Climate Change Election, and that Australians overwhelmingly voted in favour of more action on the Climate Change conspiracy theory/myth/hoax/scam!

Once again, the TRUTH is, the FACT is, THEY only got 30% of the vote,.70% of Australians voted AGAINST the Climate Change scam,.skyrocketing electricity costs,.unreliable and inefficient electricity supply.

The 2019 election WAS the Climate Change election,.and it was a resounding/landslide NO vote!

During the 2022 campaign, NOBODY (Normal, decent, intelligent people) was talking about climate change, NOBODY! That is why Labor/Greens only achieved 32% of the vote!

The ONLY people who were obsessed with the Climate Change conspiracy theory/myth/hoax/scam during the campaign, were Labor/Greens/Teal politicians, the corrupt left-wing extremist portion (90%) of the media, 90% of celebrities (all obscenely wealthy, never having lived, worked, or even breathed in the REAL world), and the obscenely wealthy Yuppie-Blue-Bloods living in the obscenely wealthy suburbs of the major cities,.also never having lived, worked, or breathed in the REAL world!

Unfortunately, its those same obscenely wealthy Yuppie-Blue-Blood suburbs of the major cities where many of Australias politicians live,.and like the above mentioned, have NEVER lived, worked, or even breathed in the REAL world!

Reminder:-

CO2 makes up just 0.04% of the atmosphere.

NATURE produces 97% of the CO2 in the atmosphere.

HUMAN ACTIVITY produces just 3% of the CO2 in the atmosphere.

Australia produces less-than 1.3% of the 3% of the 0.04% of CO2 in the atmosphere!

China produces 30%,.and rising daily!

If Australia ceased producing ANY CO2 whatsoever, it would make absolutely NO difference to the CLIMATE here, or in fact, ANYWHERE in the WORLD!

Imperial Visits: US Emissaries in the Pacific "IndyWatch Feed Niugini"

It was his first visit to the country, and the public affairs unit of the US Indo-Pacific Command stated that it underscored the importance of the US-Papua New Guinea relationship and showed US resolve toward building a more peaceful, stable, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region.

Now, Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare finds himself at the centre of much interest, at least till he falls out of favour in the airconditioned corridors of Washington. His policy friends to all, enemy to none has become a mantra. That much was clear in a May 2022...

The Indo-Pacificization of Asia: Implications for the Regional Order "IndyWatch Feed National"

The Indo-Pacific is a vast geographical region that encompasses the Indian Ocean and the western and central Pacific Oceans, including the many seas in Southeast Asia and Oceania. In a geopolitical context, the term only started to appear in the lexicon of geopolitics in the late 2010s. The late Japanese Prime Minister Abe Shinzo first referred to the confluence of the Indian and Pacific Oceans in mid-2007, and the official use of Indo-Pacific first appeared in Australias 2013 Defense White Paper. Since then, the U.S., India, EU, and ASEAN have all published their respective visions and strategies for the Indo-Pacific. What drove the emergence of this vast super-region in the geopolitical discourse?

Mental Maps, the Far East, and the Asia-Pacific

Regions are social constructs that serve political agendas. Fundamentally, they are mental maps that revolve around power, shape identity, agenda setting, and sense of belonging as a stakeholder in a shared space. Regional identities form the basis for which a state perceives itself vis--vis others. A logical consequence of the dynamic nature of political agendas is that regional constructs are also dynamic, and subject to reflect the given state of international relations.

The contemporary Indo-Pacific construct is a relatively recent phenomenon. Previously, the term Far East was widely used. The term has mostly fallen out of popular use, due to its certain connotations with eurocentrism, colonialism, and cultural exoticism. The term was also initially used by Imperial Japan, but it later opted for East Asia in an attempt to create an alternative region order in the form of the Greater East Asian Co-Prosperity Sphere.

Fast-forward to the late twentieth century, the Asia-Pacific emerged as a new regional construct with the worlds largest ocean the Pacific at its heart. What was previously seen as a geographical barrier is instead seen through the lens of connectivity, where shipping lanes and flight routes would bring the emerging economies of Asia closer to the developed markets of the U.S. This occurred in the context of the unipolar moment, where the United States emerged from the Cold War as the worlds sole superpower. It is within this unipolar framework that the U.S. was able to act as the security guarantor the regional order through hubs and spokes a series of bilateral security ties between the U.S. and its partners in Asia.

Institutions played a key role in upholding the regional order. The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) perhaps best encapsulates the idea of an Asia-Pacific construct. Formed in 1989, APEC pr...

CND condemns UK decision to send depleted uranium shells to Ukraine

The UK government is sending depleted uranium shells for use in the Challenger 2 tanks gifted to Ukraine, a move CND has condemned as an additional environmental and health disaster for those living through the conflict.

Defence Minister Baroness Goldie admitted in the answer to a written question that armour piercing rounds containing depleted uranium (DU) were included in its tank package for Kiev. She added that the rounds are highly effective in defeating modern tanks and armoured vehicles.

A byproduct of the nuclear enriching process used to make nuclear fuel or nuclear weapons, DU emits three quarters of the radioactivity of natural uranium and shares many of its risks and dangers. It is used in armour piercing rounds as it is heavy and can easily penetrate steel. However on impact, toxic or radioactive dust can be released and subsequently inhaled.

DU shells were used extensively by the US and British in Iraq in 1991 and 2003, as well as in the Balkans during the 1990s.

It is thought that the extensive use of these shells is responsible for the sharp rise in the incidence rate of some cancers like breast cancer or lymphoma in the areas they were used. Other illnesses linked to DU include kidney failure, nervous system disorders, lung disease and reproductive problems. However, a lack of reliable data on exposure to DU means no large-scale study on its true impact exists.

CND General Secretary Kate Hudson said:

Like in Iraq, the addition of depleted uranium ammunition into this conflict will only increase the long-term suffering of the civilians caught up in this conflict. DU shells have already been implicated in thousands of unnecessary deaths from cancer and other serious illnesses. CND has repeatedly called for the UK government to place an immediate moratorium on the use of depleted uranium weapons and to fund long-term studies into their health and environmental impacts. Sending them into yet another war zone will not help the people of Ukraine.

Extremism leads to more extremism "IndyWatch Feed National"

Answers in Genesis isnt just that annoying collection of stupid people and con artists anymore theyre embracing hate and bigotry as fervently as they have ignorance, and its getting worse. Dan makes an interesting discovery while trying to track down the source of some recent hateful articles on the AiG website.

Whats curious is that AiG is trying to hide the source there are these articles that are currently anonymous, but the Wayback Machine reveals that they were initially posted under the byline Harry F. Sanders, III. Why is AiG actively trying to conceal the authorship? And further, Harry F. Sanders, III is itself a pseudonym for someone named Emory Moynagh (probably also a pseudonym) who had a YouTube channel (now deleted) called In His Image, where he was an extremist antisemitic conspiracy theorists. And now AiG is trying to launder his history while giving him a bigger platform to peddle that extremism. Also interesting: AiG is taking other creationist organizations know they are heretics and blasphemers. Ken Hams ego is totally in charge, I imagine he considers himself a modern-day patriarch who must chastise all those who deviate from his dogma.

This is a common problem in authoritarian worldviews, you know. Were witnessing a predictable acceleration as AiG fully embraces its cult nature. Its only going to get more feverish and vicious.

If youd rather not listen to a 14 minute video, heres the conclusion:

Ken Ham is going all-in on the culture war
And hes decided to go all-in against other YECs
Hes enlisted Harry F. Sanders, III/Emory Moynagh as the primary author of this series
Harry/Emory has a history of articulating extreme positions, including borderline incitements of violence, antisemitism, and conspiracies
This is dangerous and irresponsible, especially considering Ham and AiGs recent aggression towards the LGBT+ community and the trend of right-wing violence

Now, for the people who are ready for such a revolution, globetrotters in essence, Thailand might seem the perfect destination.

The Land of Smiles, the country of a thousand landscapes and exotic dishes, is famous for its hospitality. When choosing the country you want to live your life in, this is a key aspect and it can be the feature that helps you make the final decision. However, moving abroad is not an easy deal and the best way to approach it is by checking all the items in the aspects-to-consider-before-moving list. So, if you are considering Thailand as a place to live in, these are the things you should take into account.

Thailand is a highly popular destination among expats

Finding a home in Thailand will not be so hard, especially because it is full of other expats that are willing to help you in the search. Besides, the locals welcome hundreds of new visitors and foreigners who go there to live every year. Most new residents that are foreigners go from the United Kingdom, the United States and Australia, so, even if you will eventually learn the language, you will find English-speaking people everywhere.

The bigger cities are the preferred destinations of foreign residents so, when looking for a house, consider Bangkok, Pattaya, or Chiang Mai, although islands like Koh Samui or Koh Tao are also popular choices for expats.

Russia warns UK over decision to arm Ukraine with nuclear ammo "IndyWatch Feed National"

Britain will be sending Depleted Uranium (DU) ammunition along with the Challenger tanks it is sending Ukraine. Click to enlarge

Russian President Vladimir Putin warns that Moscow will react to an earlier decision by the UK to arm Ukraine with ammunition containing depleted uranium.

Speaking in London on Monday, Britains Minister of State for Defense Annabel Goldie said some of the ammunition for the Challenger 2 battle tanks that Britain was sending to Ukraine included armor-piercing rounds, which contain depleted uranium.

The United Kingdomannounced not only the supply of tanks to Ukraine, but also shells with depleted uranium. If this happens, Russia will be forced to react, Putin told reporters in Moscow on Tuesday.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu also cautioned that the British decision was moving Moscow and the West closer to the brink of nuclear collision.

Another step has been taken, and there are fewer and fewer left, he told reporters in remarks cited by domestic agencies.

Ammunition containing depleted uranium can pierce tanks and similar armor-plated vehicles due to the nuclear components density and other physical properties.

Naturally, Russia has something to answer this with, Shoigu added.

Russia started a military campaign in neighboring Ukraine last February to defend the pro-Russian population in the eastern Ukrainian regions of Donetsk and Luhansk against persecution by Kiev.

Ever since the beginning of the war, Western countries, led by the United States, have been slapping Russia with a slew of economic sanctions and pumping Ukraine full of advanced weapons, steps that Moscow says would only prolong the hostilities.

The Wests ongoing armament of Ukraine comes, although, Putin recently said he welcomed a Chinese proposal for mediation between Moscow and Kiev towards resolution of the now-year-long conflict.

I told you So "IndyWatch Feed National"

For the life of me, I have stated the obvious that the Biden Administration has been pushing China and Russia together not to mention North Korea, Iran, and perhaps even Turkey. I cannot believe that I am so brilliant that none of these people in the White House understood the historical event that just took place. That leaves me with the only possible conclusion that they KNEW what they were doing, and that this was DELIBERATE with the intention of creating World War III.

They made it clear that Russia is willing to negotiate but the USA wants war not peace. All they need to do is honor the Minsk Agreement which they refuse to do. In addition, they expressed concern about the West effectively creating NATO in Asia and the AUKUS (Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States) and their plans to build nuclear submarines that would violate the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

Russian and China came to an agreement concerning a comprehensive partnership in the energy sector. They also expressed concern for the American Neocons who have been pushing military-biological activities and demand full disclosure. They are furthermore pushing for the US to accelerate the elimination of its stockpile of chemical weapons, which the Neocons seem to be dragging their feet intentionally under the Biden Administration.

They also stressed that the United States is pushing Ukraine into this proxy war that they viewed as leading to an uncontrollable phase. Moreover, they have also pointed out that the United States and the UK are bypassing the UN Security Council and acting in a rogue manner. The Biden Administration has already divided the world economy. Now, China and Russia are moving to a joint security policy on food and energy which will include defense.

NATO is by no means a defensive organization. They violated the agreements of 1991 and moved Eastward to the border of Russia. In return, China and Russia have called on NATO to strictly observe the defensive nature of their organization and respect the foreign sovereignty of nations, which they have not. Aside from the fact that they invited Russia to join in 1991 which led to the Gorbachev coup, the need for Russia to be the evil empire has been vital. Without an enemy, NATO serves no purpose.

They have also expressed concern that the United States has clearly intensified...

China Urges US to Stop Politicizing COVID Origins-tracing After Bill Signed

China on Tuesday urged the US to stop politicizing the COVID-19 origins-tracing in strong opposition to US President Joe Biden's signing of a bill that requires the so-called declassification of information related to COVID-19 origins-tracing which hypes up "lab-leak" hypothesis without any evidence.

Wang Wenbin, spokesperson from the Chinese Foreign Ministry, expressed China's strong dissatisfaction at Tuesday's press briefing over the bill saying it severely distorts facts, fabricates false infomation, hypes up "lab-leak theory" without any evidence, and smears and attacks China.

The legislation - the COVID-19 Origin Act of 2023 - passed by the US Senate and House earlier this month and Biden signed the bill into law on Monday.

"My Administration will continue to review all classified information relating to COVID-19's origins, including potential links to the Wuhan Institute of Virology," Biden claimed in a statement released by the White House.

Wang condemned the US for not making any responsible moves, except making irresponsible remarks on the World Health Organization works in tracing origins and repressing scientists who uphold consciencee in answeing a question asked by the Global Times reporter.

Politicizing the COVID-19 origins-tracing will only hinder global tracing and scientific cooperation, divide global solidarity in the fight against COVID-19, and undermine the global health governance mechanism, Wang warned, urging the US to stop politicizing origins-tracing and respond to reasonable concerns from the international community, including sharing their suspected cases, open up Fort Detricks and other bio-labs, Wang noted.

However, recent research and personal accounts from those who have had near-death experiences have shed new light on this topic, and the revelations may shock you.

According to a study conducted by the University of Southampton in the UK, consciousness can continue to exist for several minutes after the body has died. The study, which analyzed more than 2,000 cases of cardiac arrest patients, found that nearly 40% of those who were resuscitated reported some level of awareness during the time that they were clinically dead.

One of the most interesting aspects of the study is that many of the patients reported similar experiences, regardless of whether they believed in an afterlife or not. Many described feeling as though they were floating above their body, watching as doctors tried to revive them. Others reported feelings of peace and tranquility, and some even said that they saw a bright light or a tunnel.

While its impossible to say for sure what these experiences mean, they do suggest that consciousness may be separate from the physical body and that it can continue to exist after death.

Another fascinating aspect of the study is that some of the patients reported hearing conversations that were taking place in the room while they were clinically dead. This suggests that hearing may be one of the last senses to go when we die, and that we may be more aware of our surroundings than we realize.

Of course, there are still many unanswered questions about what happens when we die. Some people believe in an afterlife, while others believe that death is simply the end. However, the research into near-death experiences suggests that there may be more to death than we previously thought.

Regardless of what happens when we die, its important to remember that death is a natural part of life. While it can be scary to think about, its also a reminder to live our lives to the fullest and to cherish the time that we have with our loved ones. So, whether we go on to a new plane of existence or simply fade away, we can take comfort in the fact that we will all experience death together, and that its simply a part of the cycle of life.

Strong culture and strong youth will help Close the Gap "IndyWatch Feed National"

BRIDGET Cama believes its time to take a different approach to Close the Gap.

Ms Cama co-chairs the Uluru Youth Dialogue and spoke at the launch of the 2023 Close the Gap campaign in Sydney.

Australians know that the gap exists between Indigenous and non- Indigenous Australians, she said.

Government-implemented initiatives, policies and laws imposed on us and our communities to address or manage First Nations affairs have not worked.

They continue to fail us because at every stage we are shut out of the decision-making processes.

The Close the Gap campaign represents more than 50 organisations who, since 2006, have advocated for Aboriginal and Torres Strait

Voice is on track "IndyWatch Feed National"

FEDERAL Minister for Indigenous Australians Linda Burney says the referendum for an

Indigenous voice to parliament is on track, despite having not yet released a question.

Speaking from South Australias parliament house, Ms Burney said the referendum would be held by the end of the year.

We are doing the work that is needed to get this voice right. I can assure you that the voice is on track, she said.

We are taking our time, consulting and being very deliberate to make sure this voice is the voice that people are asking for.

Both the referendum working group, which includes a cross-section of representatives from First Nations communities across Australia and the engagement group, which also includes representatives from Indigenous organisations, met in Adelaide last week.

The federal government has said it will introduce legislation by the end of the next parliamentary sitting on March 30. Working group member Thomas Mayor said meaningful recognition of First Nations people in the constitution was long overdue.

We are doing a lot of hard work to reach a set of words we can take to the Australian people to see our nation become

The War Drive Against China "IndyWatch Feed National"

When will this hate-filled nonsense stop? Surveillance balloons treated like evocations of Satan and his card-carrying followers; other innumerable unidentified phenomena that, nonetheless, remain attributable in origin, despite their designation; and then the issue of spying cranes. In the meantime, there has been much finger pointing on the culprit of COVID-19 and the global pandemic. Behold the China Threat, the Sino Monster, the Yellow Terror.

In this atmosphere, the hawkish disposition of media outlets in a number of countries in shrieking for war is becoming palpable. The Fairfax press in Australia gave a less than admirable example of this in their absurd Red Alert series, crowned by crowing warmongers warning Australia to get ready for the imminent confrontation. The publications were timed to soften the public for the inevitable, scandalous and possibly even treasonous announcement that the Australian government would be spending A$368 billion in local currency on needless submarines against a garishly dressed-up threat backed by ill-motivated allies.

For days, the Australian press demonstrated a zombie-like adherence to the war line that had been fed by deskbound generals no doubt suffering from piles and deranged civilian strategists desperate to justify their supper. It is a line that always assumes the virtue of war; that going into battle, much like US President Theodore Roosevelt thought, will always outdo the tedium of peace in a haze of phosphorescent glory. It is only in the morgues and the crowded cemeteries that we find a worthy patriotism. Go out and kill, you noble sons and daughters. Do your nation proud, however stupidly.

The desperation of such a measure is also a reflection of how public opinion rejects the war drive. In a 2022 poll by the Lowy Institute think tank, 51% of Australians said they preferred their country to remain neutral in a conflict between the US and China over Taiwan. This was not a bad return, given the repetitious insistence by various Australian government ministers that joining a war with the United States over Taiwan was simply assumed.

In the US, the Wall Street Journal was also doing much the same thing, plumping for great power competitions that can only end badly, rather than great power cooperation which, when it goes well, spares us the body bags, the funerals and the flag fluttering.

Can we fix our failing food systems? Agroecology has answers "IndyWatch Feed National"

Overproduction of cash crops, vast monocultures of chemical-dependent grains and massive animal agriculture operations are putting major stress not just on U.S. farmland where theyre contributing to soil erosion, groundwater depletion and climate change but these practices are also impacting areas such as the Brazilian Cerrado, where more than half the huge savanna has been converted to soy. Compounding these issues is the fact that roughly a third of all food produced in the U.S. is wasted, a statistic that also bears out globally. As the 2023 growing season begins in the Northern Hemisphere, author and food journalist Tom Philpott whose most recent book, Perilous Bounty: The Looming Collapse of American Farming and How We Can Prevent It, details these problems joins the Mongabay Newscast to talk about the most problematic practices, how they permeate the worlds food systems and how techniques like agroecology and agroforestry could change the game and provide a way out. Listen here: Agroecology is a sustainable agriculture practice based on Indigenous and traditional methods of growing food that can address most of the aforementioned challenges while slowing the biodiversity crisis, according to the IPCCs 2022 report. Its methods can increase the nutrient profile of soils, protect it from erosion and provide a more diversified set of crops for farmers to sell. The question is, why dont we do it? Philpott, who nowadays dives into these topics as a research associate for the Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future, says quarterlyThis article was originally published on Mongabay

Mountain-Dwelling Species Losing Habitats Rapidly, Study Finds "IndyWatch Feed National"

Mountain forests are important habitats for many species, but a new study has found that habitat loss in these areas has been rapidly accelerating since 2000. In that time, more than 78.1 million hectares (approximately 193 million acres) of mountain forests have been lost, equaling an area greater than the size of Texas.

A team of scientists from Leeds University in the UK and the Southern University of Science and Technology in China studied changes in mountain forests annually from 2001 to 2018, analyzing losses and gains in tree cover.

The researchers estimated a rate of change and compared the changes across varying elevations. They also compared changes in different types of mountain forests, including boreal, temperate and tropical forests. The tropical forests had the most loss and quickest rate of loss, but this type of forest also had the fastest tree regrowth rate.

Overall, mountain forest loss increased 50% in 2010 to 2018 compared to 2001 to 2009. From 2010 to 2018, mountain forest loss accelerated to about 5.2 million hectares per year, primarily due to logging. Other factors that contributed to forest loss included wildfires, slash-and-burn cultivation and agricultural expansion.

Asia, South America, Africa, Europe and Australia experienced significant mountain forest loss, while the authors observed less forest loss in North America and Oceania.

More than 85% of mammals, birds and amphibians live in mountainous areas, meaning widespread forest loss could impact biodiversity.

Knowledge of the dynamics of forest loss along elevation gradients worldwide is crucial for understanding how and where the amount of forested area available for forest species will change as they shift in response to warming, the authors wrote, as reported by ScienceDaily.

While the authors found less forest loss in protected areas compared to unprotected areas, these protected areas were still impacted by shifting cultivation, agriculture and commercial forestry.

The study authors noted that protected areas need to be established in large enough zones to allow natural movements and sufficient space for ranging species, to best protect...

ABC's Sarah Ferguson grills Russian ambassador to Australia on Ukraine and alleged war-crimes - partial transcript "IndyWatch Feed National"

In her interview with the Russian ambassador to Australia, 7.30 Report 21 March 2023,  , I think that Sarah Ferguson failed to give her audience adequate information about the nature of the International Criminal Court, and the fact that neither the US nor Russia are signatories. The US has threatened members of the ICC in ways that would make them fearful of incurring US displeasure.[1] This makes the court unreliable in disputes involving the United States, which the Ukraine conflict clearly does. She also failed to explain how the United States is able to exert pressure on the UN, although this is clear in voting patterns during controversies, which reflect dependencies and fear. Sarah Ferguson did not give the credit due from a professional journalist to the Ukraine-Russia conflict having two sides. She seems to be engaged in a propaganda effort that aimed to consolidate Australias support for US-NATO involvement in Ukraine.

Sarah Ferguson was the caricature of an authoritarian headmistress dealing with a pupil from the wrong side of town who had been reported as a bully by the child of wealthy and influential parents. Clearly the odious child was there to be quelled by an avalanche of accusations framed as insults, and to learn that no-one was interested in his side of the story.

Sarah: For only the third time with the International Criminal Court, a serving president has been targeted by an arrest warrant. The ICC has found Russian President Vladimir Putin criminally responsible for war-crimes, specifically the deportation of Ukrainian children from occupied areas of Ukraine. Separately, a UN-backed inquiry did its own report today, detailing war-crimes by Russian troops during the war. Dr Alexi Palovski is the Kremlins ambassador to Australia. I spoke to him before the arrest warrant was made public.

Sarah: Ambassador Pavlovski, welcome to 7.30.

Ambassador: Good day.

Saras first question takes the form of a ridiculous insult: Ambassador, youre here in Australia, enjoying the benefits of a free and open society, how do you live with yourself, representing the repressive, dictatorial Putin regime?

The ambassador laughs.

Sara notes, You find that funny.

Ambassador: What I find funny is your way to start an interview.

Sarah says, Pretty straight question, with a self-satisfied grin on her face. [Ill teach you to stand up to the protegs of rich Americans, you execrable little slav!]

Ambassador: I never had proble...

PNG International Trade Minister Maru supports border post call "IndyWatch Feed Niugini"

Papua New Guinea  Minister for International Trade and Investment, Richard Maru has thrown his support behind moves by the Government to classify border posts as Special Economic Zones (SEZs).

Prime Minister James Marape made the Governments intentions known on the floor of parliament last week.

Minister Maru told  local FM 100/ news that border posts are mini SEZs and will be identified as economic hubs that will be put into the SEZ reports.

He said the government needs to build infrastructures like buildings, roads and bridges to house customs, police and Defence officers at the border posts.

Meanwhile,  the Prime Minister said the boarder districts and provinces will be developed into trade and commerce hubs for economic purposes.

He says the Department of Foreign Affairs together with the Department of Trade and International Relations and the Department of Defense will be engaged to layout the infrastructure of the border posts.

PNG Electoral Commissioner Sinai Calls for Legal Bills to be standardised "IndyWatch Feed Niugini"

Papua New Guinea Electoral Commissioner Simon Sinai said the Commission will consult with relevant authorities including the Department of Justice and Attorney General to review the cost of legal fees that are charged by private firms on elections petitions and other matters.

He said the State remains the single biggest clients to most of the law firms that are operating in the country, where all government departments and State agencies continue to hire their services.

Mr Sinai said the government has been paying huge sums of money to private law firms without using an approved legal fee structure.

It is unfortunate that we dont have a standardized or a prescribed legal fee structure that can be used as a guide to pay appropriate levels of fees to private lawyers. Currently the Commission is paying fees based on different categories of tasks that are undertaken, especially with election petitions. And thats how we have been operating since the engagement of private lawyers in 2002 and onwards, he said.

Mr Sinai said the legal bills are itemized and costs are spread over different activities such as;

Status conference, where all parties in an EP matter are involved,

Direction hearing

Competency

Trial

Decision

Appeal

Slip rule, and so forth

To be fair on parties, we need to have an approved fee structure to engage private legal practitioners on urgent matters. Right now we are operating in a vacuum and theres a need to consult relevant authorities to review the legal fee issue and put in place a measure to standardize the levels of fees the State pays to private law firms, he said.

Mr Sinai said the engagement of private lawyers has been expensive but due to the increasing number of election petition cases, it has become necessary to engage the services of private lawyers to avoid by elections.

The Commissioner hinted that the Commission will pull out of all election petition cases in the future as a party and allow the member and the petitioner to fight it out in court.

We will only appear in Court as witness and give evidence where necessary...

The cricketing phenomenon "IndyWatch Feed National"

The South African bowler, Kagiso Rabada, is arguably one of the best to play test cricket, and could retire as South Africas highest wicket-taker if the country plays more red-ball cricket.

Years ago, Adam Gilchrist, the legendary Australian wicketkeeper and former captain of Australias national team, was asked about his favorite moment on a cricket field. Gilchrist didnt pick landmark innings or Test match victories. Instead, he described something more intimate. His favorite moment, he said, was the fraction of a second when the ball made contact with the middle of his bat, and he and only he, out of all the people at the ground and all of the viewers on television, knew the connection was sweet and perfect.

For Kagiso Rabada, that moment is when the ball leaves the hand and it feels just right. In that fraction of a second, he alone knows that the ball is traveling at the perfect speed and will land on the exact spot, perfect line and length, that he is after. Darts players are familiar with this feeling. You know as soon as the arrow takes flight whether it is headed where you want it to go or if it has gone rogue.

The earliest Rabada can remember having that feeling was in 2009. St. Stithians, his high school north of Johannesburg, was struggling to take the last wicket in a timed match. Rabada put his hand up, his captain threw the ball to him and with his first delivery of the over, Rabada sent the stumps cartwheeling.

In 2009, Rabada was 14 years old and he alone knew as the ball left his hand that he had bowled a good nut. The ball went through the batters defense and disrupted the woodwork before the rest of his teammates knew it. It was around this time that he decided that he wanted to be an international cricketer. He wanted to experience this joy more times. So, all the other sports he took part in at St. Stithians took a back seat. His focus was on becoming the best bowler he could be.

Six years later, on November 5 2015, Rabada made his Test debut in a dust bowl in Mohale in Punjab, India. If there is anyone that knows how to blunt world-class pace attacks, its Indian pitch curators. Indian curators are South African, England, Australian New...
