welfare advocates urge culture change in the wake of RoboDebt revelations "IndyWatch Feed Capricornia"

Described as a crude and cruel mechanism, RoboDebt received thorough investigation in the final Royal Commission Report, with the assessment stating the unlawful Scheme made many people feel like criminals.

Following a condemning account of federal ministers and public servants, the report made 57 recommendations, including a change in social attitudes towards welfare recipients.

With thousands of lives left devastated by the Scheme revelations have again sparked major reaction from media and activists with a local poverty advocacy group urging the need to tackle the culture of welfare bashing that RoboDebt has come from.

Open letter urges the Federal Government to target university sexual violence "IndyWatch Feed Capricornia"

Content warning: reference to sexual harassment

Over 40 groups and individuals Australia-wide have signed an open letter urgently calling on the federal government for immediate action to address sexual violence in university spaces, in the face of escalating rates.

Advocates say university leaders are claiming to have had zero tolerance to sexual assaults in the six years since the landmark Change the Course Report yet recent figures in the latest National Student Safety Survey reveal a different story.

The Wire contacted Universities Australia for comment on the issue Universities Australia chief executive Catriona Jackson said:

Sexual harm is a societal problem. We all have a responsibility to act, which is why universities are working hard to reduce instances of this behaviour on campus. Working closely with students and victim/survivor groups, Universities Australia launched the world-first, sector-wide Respect.Now.Always initiative in 2016. This set in motion the development of hundreds of measures and programs at universities across the country to prevent and better respond to sexual harm. Our universities have a strong understanding of their own unique demographics, their campuses and their students, which is why they are best placed to continue building on the extensive work undertaken to date. The policy frameworks, good practice guides and other resources we have developed with experts on behalf of the sector will continue to assist universities in combating sexual harm on campus.

Bad Climate: An Illustrated Guide To Kiribatis Ongoing Fight For Survival "IndyWatch Feed National"

Earlier this year, Swiss cartoonist Felix Schaad accompanied Australian staff from Medecins Sans Frontieres/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) to Kiribati, to learn more about the island nations epic battle to survive the growing impacts of climate change.

Schaad met with community members, political leaders, advocates and MSF team members during his trip, and documented it with a unique cartoon feature about climate, health and environmental challenges Kiribati is confronting.

Notes on Kiribati and MSF

MSF has been present in Kiribati since mid 2022. An MSF paediatrician, obstetrician, midwife and paediatric nurse are working alongside i-Kiribati staff to ensure care can be given to patients in Kiribatis main hospital and support the Ministry of Health staff. Dont Bring A Knife To A Gun Fight Or Piers Morgan To An Interview With Noam Chomsky "IndyWatch Feed National"

It started with Piers Morgans trademark sycophancy, introducing the giant left-wing intellectual Noam Chomsky as in my view, one of the great minds of our generation. Which is of course, hard to argue Chomsky is a genius. But before you could say UK phone hacking scandal, things started to head south as it became clear Morgan was in way over his head.

Without wishing to spoil any of Chomskys slap downs of Morgan for asking extraordinarily stupid, loaded alternative fact style questions, as an example, when asked about Chinas intent to invade Taiwan, Chomsky replied: I would suggest distinguishing between western propaganda, and the facts. And when Morgan had a second crack at it, But I would like to describe the world situation as it is, not as its presented by US-British propaganda.

Morgan also raised mad man Vladimir Putins motivations for the war in Ukraine (which he claimed were about restoring the great Russian empire), asking Chomsky what should we do? The first thing we do is try to be clear about the facts. Vladimir Putin said it was a disaster for the Soviet Union to be destroyed, but he added Anyone who thinks it can be restored is out of his mind. That part of the quotation is not given in the West.

So Morgan tried to switch to more familiar ground the culture wars, and specifically, the assault on free speech, with things like teaching critical race theory to children. You can guess how that went.

The interview was going so badly, Morgan was forced to retreat to questions like, What big unanswered question do you have about the universe?

Needless to say, Chomsky made it clear he was uninterested in talking himself or his private life. The video is almost 40 minutes long, but its a masterclass in what happens when a right-wing fluff merchant tries to interview someone with deep knowledge of global politics.

AFTINET Submission to the Inquiry into Australias Human Rights Framework "IndyWatch Feed National"

July 13, 2023: The Australian government has launched an inquiry to review the scope and effectiveness of Australias Human Rights Framework and assess whether improvements can be made.

There has been strong civil society support for a reform of Australias Human Rights Framework, particularly for a new Federal Human Rights Act or Charter.

AFTINETs submission shows the profound impact of trade and investment agreements on human rights related to environment, gender, indigenous peoples, labour, health and access to essential services. The submission recommends Australias new human rights mechanism, in whatever form this takes, be capable of evaluating the impact of trade and investment on human rights before they are signed and include enforceable commitments to internationally recognised human rights, labour rights and environmental standards for Australia and other signatory countries.

The 4th Industrial Revolution - We are all alone together "IndyWatch Feed National"

Ants respond to isolation in a similar way to humans. Studies reveal changes in social and hygienic behaviors in ants subjected to isolation from their groups. Another interesting finding has to do with the fact that immune and stress genes are severely downgraded in the brains of isolated ants. This makes the immune system less efficient, which has also been observed in isolated humans.

Socialization, physical contact and the ability to do the things we like are vitally important to the health and well-being of humans. Isolation can be very stressful leading to rapid decline in a person's mental and physical health. Isolated individuals become lonely, depressed, anxious and more easily prone to addictions. Their immune systems become weakened, which also negatively impacts their overall health and resistance to diseases.

There is also an additional unexpected consequence observed in one particular species of ants, which lasts beyond the term of social deprivation - the loss of interest in their adult colony mates, a rather alarming finding in the context of social distancing practices, lockdowns and isolation during Covid.

The artificially manufactured identity crisis aims at destroying traditions, cultural norms, and established value systems in order to leave humanity a blank slate susceptible and open to new trends and iterations. Our environment, habitats and urban organization are also subject to targeted infrastructure upgrades, alterations, and technological manipulations, all incrementally and strategically executed in accord with the unfolding social reformations. The purpose of this exercise is part of an ongoing social engineering experiment designed to undo and remake the fabric of society, and deliver us to the frontiers of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, trapped in the Digital Panopticon - ALL ALONE TOGETHER.

WE ARE THE TEST SUBJECTS IN THIS ONGOING GLOBAL SOCIAL ENGINEERING EXPERIMENT!

Tooth Discolouration: What Causes It and How You Can Prevent It "IndyWatch Feed National"

We all want a bright and healthy smile. But sometimes, tooth discolouration gets in the way. Tooth discolouration is the staining or darkening of your teeth, and can have a variety of underlying causes. Today, well dive into all that you need to know about tooth discolouration and what you can do to get that radiant smile back.

The Type of Tooth Discolouration

  • Extrinsic DiscolourationExtrinsic discolouration refers to when the outer layer of the tooth, known as the enamel, becomes stained or discoloured. This is usually caused by external environmental factors, such as consuming certain foods and beverages.
  • Intrinsic DiscolourationIntrinsic discolouration begins inside your tooth and affects the layer underneath your enamel called dentin. Common causes include dental trauma and some medications.

Common Causes of Tooth Discolouration

  • Food and Drinks

Dark-coloured food and drinks like coffee, cola and red wine contain pigments that can adhere to the enamel of your teeth over time. Regular consumption without a proper oral hygiene routine can eventually lead to intrinsic staining over time.

  • Tobacco Use

Smoking or chewing tobacco products can cause significant tooth discolouration. This is because the nicotine and tar found inside them can penetrate the enamel, resulting in persistent stains that are stubborn and hard to remove.

  • Poor Oral Hygiene

Poor oral hygiene, generally due to a lack of brushing or flossing, can lead to a buildup of plaque and tatar on your teeth. This will eventually lead to discolouration and abnormally high amounts of bacteria in your mouth, resulting in tooth decay and intrinsic staining.

Unavoidable Causes

  • AgeingAs we get older, our tooth enamel gets thinner and thinner. This exposes the dentin hiding underneath, which has a yellow hue and can lead to your teeth appearing discoloured with age.
  • GeneticsThe natural colour, brightness and translucency of your teeth are different for everyone, and can be heavily influenced by genetics.
  • Dental TraumaDamage to your teeth caused by anything from car crashes to sports-related injuries can cause trauma that then leads to discolouration.
  • Health ConditionsCertain health conditions such as liver disease, celiac disease and eating disorders can cause a higher chance of teeth discolouration occurring.

Jacobin on how to perfect the architecture of control "IndyWatch Feed National"

My interview in US outlet, Jacobin, about my new book, The Palestine Laboratory. The conversation, conducted by Mattha Busby, covered a wide range of areas from Israeli spying to the role of the Zionist lobby:

Wars and occupations have long been testing grounds for technology, science, and surveillance. In a domain mostly controlled by the oppressor, subject populations are sure to find ingenious ways to rise up but their captors also find new ways to subjugate them. This is the reality in the occupied Palestinian territories, where Israel has maintained the longest occupation in modern times fifty-six years and counting.

The Israeli state and its closely aligned military-industrial complex writes its own rule book. Its soldiers watch as extremist Jewish settlers launch pogroms against Palestinians in the West Bank. Over one thousand Palestinians are held in indefinite detention without charge in Israeli jails.

Palestinian access to water is used as a potent state-controlled weaponfor the settler movement. Meanwhile, Israeli arms companies promote their weapons with real footage in which Palestinian children are left injured.

But in the court of international opinion, the tide is turning against Israel. In May, the United Nations special rapporteur on human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories denounced the apartheid system over which colonial power Israel rules Palestinians. Tens of millions of dollars are sent from the United States by registered charities to bankroll illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank, but the New York State Assembly will soon consider a bill that would prevent the tax-deductible practice.

NATO summit in Vilnius proved to be a major failure "IndyWatch Feed National"

Contributed from Victoria

The just concluded NATO summit in Vilnius ended by producing little, except to reveal uncertainty and lack of member unity. This was supposed to be a stage-managed affair, showing the world solid support for the Kyiv side of the war in Ukraine, and a determined launch of NATO presence in Asia. Neither was delivered.

Part of the problem was Kyiv leader Zelenskyys dig at NATO for not permitting Ukraine to join it at once. NATOs problem is that public support for backing him is weak, and NATO members are under political pressure. They are compelled to at least make what they do look good.

Besides waning public support, especially in Europe, for the war, there is the problem that Kyiv is supposed to meet the supposed democratic credentials for membership. This is awkward, when a range of political parties have been banned, political critics are being arrested, and pro-Nazi groups elevated. This is not a good look and NATO would have considerable difficulty selling it.

Then there is failure of the present offensive on the battlefield. As many as 26,000 soldiers in the past month, and most of its tanks, personnel carriers, and other advanced equipment. There is speculation that Zelenskyy knows he is not going to have a chance of winning without NATO putting boots into Ukraine and escalating to the use of nuclear weapons, and this is what he is ultimately pushing towards. In doing so, he is making NATO nervous and building divisions within it.

Photo from AP: Ukraines President Volodymyr Zelenskyy failed at NATO summit

The decision of the United States to supply Ukraine with cluster bombs is unpopular and creates more difficulty for NATO.

Immediate membership of Ukraine is not supported by some of the member nations. Zelenskyy asked for a roadmap for joining. He got a Vague promise that membership will be organised as soon as possible.

Zelenskyy complains that he is not coming away with enough armaments. NATO nations are also c...

On a grey rainy day in the World War one  battlefields at Pozieres, two diggers made a promise to look after one anothers wives if either survived the conflagration setting down upon them.

That was the beginning of Legacy, and the Torch flame as the symbol of Legacy has been carried from France, across Europe and Australia on the 100 year centenary of that day.  The Torch is due to arrive in Sydneys Martin Place today, with Minister for Veterans Affairs Matt Thisthlethwaite, and Governor General General Sir Peter Cosgrove.

The recent Jenin operation looks different when considering Palestine as a weapons laboratory "IndyWatch Feed National"

A strong review of my new book, The Palestine Laboratory, by writer Syndication Bureau (focusing solely on the Middle East).

An extract:

The occupation of Palestine is the most funded and resourced state project in Israels history. On the surface, the occupation has been sold as a temporary defensive measure necessary for Israels survival. However, it satisfies many other needs. Given the biblical connection to the West Bank, the occupation provides a religious veneer to the project of secular Zionism. Control over holy cities with deep meaning in Jewish religious history rallies Jews worldwide to support Israel and its government.

More importantly, Israels military control over an entire population has facilitated the creation of a lucrative weapons industry. In his new book, The Palestine Laboratory: How Israel Exports the Technology of Occupation Around the World, Australian journalist Antony Loewenstein has documented the intricate connection between the occupation of Palestine and the development of the modern weapons industry. Controlling millions of people requires more than a strong military. Israel has dominated virtually all aspects of Palestinian life with remarkable efficiency through a matrix of checkpoints, physical barriers, and advanced surveillance technologies.

AliExpress enabling frausters doing nothing about it? "IndyWatch Feed National"

Any selling medium does attract criminals and while in Australia there may be law against false or misleading advertising, Australian 'consumers' are at the mercy of others.

There are plenty of fraudsters, Chinese nationals, on AliEpress, where they are blatantly ripping off overseas buyers.

What is AliExpress doing about it? Very little, not enough.

What is the Chinese government doing about it? Nothing!

Would one seriously expect a government to act against its nationals defrauding 'round eyes', when (globally recognised) copyright law has zero effect or execution in China?

What about Team America World Police, when are they going to save the day?

As they say, buyer beware.

Two stern warnings must be given to the arrogant NATO "IndyWatch Feed National"

Two stern warnings must be given to the arrogant NATO: Global Times editorial

Global Times Editorial

July 12, 2023: Information Clearing House -- The NATO summit is being held in Vilnius, Lithuania, from Tuesday to Thursday. The meeting focuses on plans to "counter the threat" from Russia, including discussions on NATO's expansion and Ukraine's future membership to NATO. Meanwhile, NATO's strategic impulse to meddle in the Asia-Pacific region is also imminent at this summit. Expanding cooperation with the four "Asia-Pacific partners" - Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand - is another major topic of the summit. In this regard, the US media boldly stated that NATO is trying to "deter China's strategic ambitions."

This is the second year that Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand have been invited to the NATO summit. In order to firmly rope in these four countries, NATO imitated the "Quad" mechanism of the US, Japan, India and Australia at last year's summit, and specially created a new name for these four countries called "Asia-Pacific Four (AP4)." This aims to institutionalize the cooperation between these four countries and NATO, and make them de facto new allies of "NATO+" in the Asia-Pacific region. According to sources, the joint statement to be issued in Vilnius will change the name of AP4 to "Indo-Pacific Four (IP4)," which is undoubtedly more in line with Washington's tone.

There are 31 NATO members, but they have never been monolithic and have different views on many international issues. However, they are in general dominated by the will of the US. Now they have been kidnapped by the panic and tension instigated by the US, becoming "Washington's axe, spears and shovels." Wherever NATO goes, wars are likely to break out. These are not only the subjective impressions left by NATO, but also objective facts to a large extent. This situation is actually more worthy of the high vigilance of those member states within NATO that have no intention of being pa...

NATO is malicious poison former Australian PM

By News Agencies

July 12, 2023: Information Clearing House -- NATO has no place in Asia and should stick to its original focus, that is the security of the Transatlantic region, former Australian Prime Minister Paul Keating has argued. The Labour politician, who served in office from 1991 to 1996, also warned against attempts to circumscribeChina.

In his statement published on Sunday, Keating appeared to refer to a recent report in Politico, which claimed French President Emmanuel Macron had blocked NATOs plans to establish a liaison office in Japan.

The former premier lauded the French head of state for doing the world a service by apparently emphasizing the military blocs focus on Europe and the Atlantic.

According to Keating, the alliances very existence past the end of the Cold War has already denied peaceful unity to the broader Europe.

Exporting such malicious poison to Asia would be akin to Asia welcoming the plague upon itself, he insisted. The former prime minister warned that NATOs presence on the continent would negate most of the regions recent advances.

Keating went on to describe NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg as the supreme fool on the international stage who is conducting himself like an American agent.

Hmmm. Have we seen this before? "IndyWatch Feed National"

In the 1970s, Whitlam set up the Royal Commission into Human Relationships (fascinating stuff).

One of the many topics they considered was comprehensive sex education.

There is a need for early and continuous sex education and for an educational program which will help young people to be responsible to themselves and to each other and to decide and act with knowledge, not in fear or ignorance.

Royal Commission into Human Relationships, Final Report, 1977

Conservatives at the time went into a frenzy of pearl clutching, insisting that priests and parents were the only people who should ever talk to children about sex. They ignored the evidence that many parents didnt have the information their kids needed, or didnt know how to talk to kids about sex, or had deeply disturbing attitudes towards sex that needed disrupting.

Most of all they ignored all the parents who wanted schools and experts to teach their kids about sex because they knew it would make their kids safer and happier.

Almost 50 years later, the only thing thats changed is a different Royal Commission stopped even the LNP demanding that priests should talk to children about sex.

Effective consent education stops the weaponisation of fear and shame. It gives kids and teens the power to make safer, stronger choices about their own lives and bodies.

People who reject consent education and people who think their power base depends on weaponising fear and shame theres a Venn diagram thats pretty much a perfect circle.

If you want to know more about consent education, heres something I prepared earlier

Will the Brics launching a gold backed currency be the catalist for bankrupting 3rd world economies? Or is it rising interest rates on their debt?

Tks for all the light u share in a confusing economic landscape.

ANSWER: It is unlikely that we are looking at a BRICS single currency like the euro, for that would require a central monetary authority, surrender of sovereignty as in Brussels, end any possibility of QE, etc. We would need to completely collapse the idea of Keynesian Economics insofar as it has evolved, allowing deficit spending.

There is no special magic to gold. It was first restricted to only kings, for it was considered to be the tears from the sun god. As more gold was discovered, it began to be used for the jewelry of wealthy aristocrats. Then it became used as money in its natural form, known as electrum, a natural alloy of gold mixed with silver.

Federal Court does not recognise age pension discrimination, despite Australian Government's failure to close life expectancy gap "IndyWatch Feed National"

The Federal Court of Australia has dismissed the legal challenge seeking fair and equal access to the age pension for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Proud Wakka Wakka man Uncle Dennis* brought the case in which the Federal Government faced court for the first time in connection with its failure to close the gap in life expectancy between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and non-Indigenous people.

Despite recognising the ongoing gap in life expectancy, the Court did not accept that Australia's racial discrimination laws should give Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people earlier access to the age pension.

It comes on the same day as The Closing the Gap Annual Data Compilation Report found that Australia is still not on track to meet the target of equal life expectancy by 2031. No progress towards this target was reported since the previous year.

The Albanese government has a responsibility to address age pension inequality out of court, by lowering the pension age for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The current pension age of 67 years does not account for the stark differences in life expectancy and health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. It means that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people do not have the same opportunity to retire and receive support through the age pension as other Australians. Equal access to the pension would also support several Closing the Gap targets.

Uncle Dennis brought the case with the Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service and the Human Rights Law Centre, with support from DLA Piper.

Proud Wakka Wakka man Uncle Dennis said:

Im frustrated with this white system, its not a system of the land. It doesnt give us a say. White people are living longer because they havent lost what we have lost. As an Aboriginal man, Ive seen too many of my people dying at a very early age. We are lucky to get to 50 years old. This case was about telling the truth, and asking the Government to work together with us, to give our people the same chance in life as everyone else.

Things will never get better unless the Government closes the gaps it created. We didnt have a problem, a problem came here. Our language, our culture and our identity comes from here, it doesnt come from another country. Truth, justice and accountability are important.

Nerita Waight, CEO at the Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service said:
Everyone deserves to live a life with dignity but this is not possible for our communities who have been left with no choice but to live shorter lives in poverty because of decades of racist colonial policies and a continued lack of investment and change in the systems, institutions and policies that affect their lives day in day out.

World Federation of Trade Unions issued statement on the NATO Summit 2023 "IndyWatch Feed National"

The NATO summit in Vilnius is about to conclude. It faced some serious issues. Notably the situation in Ukraine and the controversy over an intended expansion into Asia. Critics point out that NATO is on a course towards war and that the push for the prevention of war and for a peaceful relationship between nations is critical to our collective future. The World Federation of Unions, representing 105 million workers in 133 countries issued the statement below just prior to the summit.

The World Federation of Trade Unions, on behalf of its 105 million workers who live, work and struggle in 133 countries of the 5 continents strongly condemns the imperialist plans of NATO and considers the 2023 Summit which is going to be held July 11-12 in Vilnius, Lithuania, one more blatant provocation to the whole peaceful humanity.

The peoples all over the globe know we well the bloody mission of this imperialist alliance is to maintain, and expand if possible, the existing favourable correlation of forces for the NATO countries in order to safeguard the profits of their monopolies.  In the imperialist system which is characterized by the fierce competitions of the imperialist forces for geopolitical control and the control of energy resources and their transport routes, both the peoples of the member-states of NATO and the other counties peoples have nothing to expect from the imperialist alliances and wars except death, suffering, poverty, and misery.

The class-oriented world trade union movement, the militant unions, and those who truly want peace consistently and continuously struggle against NATO which constitutes an aggressive war machine in the service of the interests of the imperialist countries of the alliance.   The peoples of the world have a first-hand experience of NATO crimes and they know that NATO means nothing but interventions, wars, juntas, refugees, starvation, destruction, and death.

The WFTU condemns the continuation of military interventions and wars, the accelerated militarization of international relations, and the soaring military expenditures; it demands an immediate end to all imperialist armed conflicts, full respect for the sovereignty, independence, and right of every people to freely choose their present and future.

We denounce the exclusions, discriminations, embargoes, and sanctions imposed by the US, NATO, and the EU against various countries, as they negatively impact the standard of living of low-income families, workers, poor small farmers, and popular strata in general.

Anyone With Drugs, Put Them On The Table: The Redgum Years In The Sunshine State "IndyWatch Feed National"

John Schumann (ex-Redgum lead singer/songwriter) and the Vagabond Crew are returning to Brisbane with The Redgum Years in August. Here, Schumann reflects on gigging in the dark days of the Bjelke-Petersen regime, and finds Redgums protest songs from the 70s and 80s still apply today.

It was September 1979. We were staying in some crappy three-star holiday units in Tweed Heads and Tim Woods, our tour manager, assembled us in one of the kitchens after breakfast.

Redgum was very much a part-time band then. Two of us were high-school teachers so touring opportunities were confined to school holidays. Tim, now a successful concert promoter, was the only member of the touring party who had the faintest idea about the music industry and Queensland.

Okay, anyone with any drugs at all I mean at all  put them on the table now.

People shuffled uncomfortably and little by little, small quantities of marijuana in tobacco tins and Gladbags and the odd morsel of crumbly black hash in tinfoil appeared on the Laminex table. It was pretty pathetic, really. These days the combined stash would be considered well within personal use limit for one person.

Iconic Australian band, Redgum.

Right. Were going into Queensland. Were Special Branch targets so we need to be as clean as a bottle of Dettol. Smoke it now, flush it, bury it somewhere I dont care. But its not coming across the border.

Wed released our first album, If You Dont Fight You Lose, barely a year before. One of my contributions was a strident song delivered in my strangulated, nasal tones called Letter to BJ. It was addressed to Queenslands notorious premier and it had garnered a fair bit of attention on both sides of the civil liberties argument. Plenty of Queenslanders were dying to see us play it live. Plenty more would have been just as happy to see our heads on pikes lining the road out of Tweed Heads.

The Lies We Were Told "IndyWatch Feed National"

How long does it take to conclude some authority is lying? We dont know this answer yet apparently many years.

BY BILL RICE, JR. | JULY 11, 2023

I recently discovered an excellent Substack Newsletter authored by a registered nurse (Dee Dee) who has treated many (alleged) Covid patients. This nurse finally had enough and decided to share her stories and thoughts via her own Substack, which she started May 25th.

From reading a couple of her pithy posts, my take-away is Nurse Dee must feel like the main character in Joseph Hellers classic novel Catch 22.

In that novel the experiences and observations of a fictional WW II bombardier tell readers the guidance and logic used by his superiors is complete madness.

Dees observations prompted my own question: When do citizens or employees finally realize that every supposedly-true thing theyve been told is, in fact, a brazen lie?

For most people, at least with Covid proclamations, the answer seems to be never.

In other words, for many people, being lied to over and over doesnt matter.

To put it mildly, such a revelation is a tad disconcerting.

One message and it wasnt subtle

Dee Dees observations from a June 2nd dispatch might show readers why I thought of Catch-22, where the message to bomber crews was just do what you are told; dont try to figure out the logic.

With Covid, Nurse Dee identifies the goal of all orders. Instead of just fly the dangerous mission, the key message is: Just take the shot.

The logic surrounding COVID-19 was circular. Every dictated premise, required blind faith and the goal was always the same; to take the shot.

You could not question the narrative and remain a good citizen The mantra erupted, this is a pandemic of the unvaccinated.

No argument could be interjected in the logic. It didnt matter if you had not seen a new illness with unique symptoms It didnt matter if the science didnt make sense. It didnt matter if the measures were opposite to all your previous medical training.

It didnt matter that the vaccine did not stop transmission, and it didnt matter if you had natural immunity.  Essentially, we were told to accept every claim without evidence or reason. The orders had been given, just take the shot.

What one nurse was told

Clive Palmer launches second ISDS case against the Australian government with third case likely "IndyWatch Feed National"

12 July, 2023:  The Attorney Generals Department has confirmed that Clive Palmers company, Zeph Investment which is registered in Singapore, has lodged a second Investor-State Dispute Settlement (ISDS) claim suing the Australian government for $41.3 billion under the 2012 ASEAN-Australia New Zealand Free Trade Agreement.

ISDS is a mechanism within some trade agreements which enables foreign (but not local) investors to sue governments for millions and even billions of dollars of compensation if they can argue, among other reasons, that a change in domestic law or policy has reduced the value of their investment.

Clive Palmer is claiming to be a Singaporean investor, as Zeph Investment is registered in Singapore, to utilise the ISDS mechanism to lodge his claim. He is alleging that the refusal of coal exploration permits in Queensland, which were refused on environmental grounds, entitles him to ISDS compensation.

Clive Palmers most recent ISDS case is just one of the two new prospective ISDS cases revealed in the May budget papers. The Attorney Generals Department has confirmed that Zeph Investment is expected to lodge a third ISDS case.

These cases follow two previous cases that Clive Palmer has taken against the Australian government. In October 2021, Clive Palmer lost his $27.8 billion High Court (non-ISDS) case against the Western Australian government over a disputed mining lease. He moved assets to  Singapore to take this case to an ISDS tribunal and in April 2023 he sued the Australian government for almost $300 billion.

Clive Palmers latest case means he is currently suing the Australian government for $337.3 billion under ISDS, not accounting for a potential third case. Even if Clive Palmer loses these cases, it can be expected to cost the Australian government billions in legal fees. A previous ISDS case between Phillip Morris and the Australian government over plain cigarette packaging cost Australia than $12 billion in legal fees and over 5 years to resolve.

Barnaby Hunts A Name For New Nationals Think Tank. Hilarity Ensues. "IndyWatch Feed National"

Apparently (and by apparently we mean possibly) the Nationals are contemplating a Think Tank and Political Activist Group to rival GetUp!, Advance Australia and the IPA. Which, for pretty obvious reasons isnt going to be easy. Because, you know, the words Barnaby Joyce and Think Tank appearing in the same sentence is almost certain to evoke fits of laughter in most quarters, and get in the way of the very thing that think tanks are supposed to promote namely, thinking.

Ever ready to assist, the Twitterverse has exploded with suggestions to help the Member for New England find his way through the confusing maze of word thingies (and in the interests of accuracy its also possible that the Twitterverse is equally responsible for creating the whole concept but wheres the fun in fact-checking that). The batting was opened by a Mr. Philip Riley, proud Wiradjuri man and retired schoolteacher, whose suggestions include Intellecta Nullius, All Hat No Cattle, and Happy Hour.

Other suggestions forthcoming include Septic Tank, Lie Down (a play on GetUp!, arf arf), Drink Up!, No Flies On Us, Empty Paddocks, No-one Left, Rorting Rooters, Bourbon Bangers, All Hat No Head, and Cattlemen Up No Trails.

Some of the more classy names included The Bull Dust Institute, The Mudguard Centre (all bright and shiny on top but filthy underneath), the Fertiliser Forum, and the Sir Les Patterson Foundation.

And in a flurry of suggestions, Greg Burch offered: Drink Tank, Gin Up!, Institute of Public Bars, Institute of Elicit Affairs, Institute of the Public Purse, and Integrous Nullius. Its possible Mr Burch is either no fan of the Nationals, or believes them to have a drinking problem.

Judy Lloyd Dalton offered more of an interpretive artwork than a name a photo of Barnaby Joyce sleeping through a session of parliament, prompting Mr Riley to remark, Hes got 2 of the Seven Dwarfs covered Sleepy and Dopey.

The two-tier economy "IndyWatch Feed National"

Have you tried to get a tradie recently?

How about booking your car in for a service, or hiring a removalist that can fit you in before Christmas?

If youve tried calling any of these local businesses recently, youve probably discovered that demand for basic services like these is majorly outstripping supply.

Welcome to the north coasts two-speed economy.

While the local retail sector struggles under the dual pressures of rising interest rates and the increased cost of living, industries involved in providing basic, grass roots services are booming.

Many tradies have waiting periods of two months for an average-sized job, while some, such as carpenters and tilers, are almost impossible to get, unless youre willing to pay a premium.

The average wait to book your car in for a service in the Shire is two-to-four weeks, and if youre moving house within the local area youll want to plan at least eight weeks ahead.

A series of interviews conducted by The Echo with experts and those working in these industries suggest the boom and consequent shortages in these industries are the outcome of multiple factors.

They include the increase in demand for the building industry brought about by the 2022 floods, and the mass migration to the Northern Rivers during covid.

At the same time, there is a critical shortage of workers in some of these areas, particularly in the trades sector.

Jason Bentley, from the Byron Bay Chamber of Commerce, said the region was definitely seeing different industries at different levels.

The trade sector is going gang busters. Some are struggling to keep up with demand.

But at the same time, others are having to close down their operations or move out of the area.

Jane Laverty, President of the Northern Rivers chapter of Business NSW, said businesses in the region typically fell into one of three lanes: those that were really struggling, those who were hanging in there, and those who were seeing ongoing very high demand.

Golden triangle

All of these businesses are facing what I call the golden triangle, which is housing, staffing and skills, she said.

These are the three biggest challenges that pretty much everyone is facing.......

Can you define love? Its not tangible. Is it measurable in any way? How do you know you love someone or something, and dont say, You just know.

I feel a lot of love in my life for different people and different things, all for different reasons. I can describe love, but I cant define it. Google kept using the term affection when I looked it up, but I wasnt really satisfied with that. Why is something so meaningful so hard to put into words?

Have you heard this argument how can you believe in love and not god? You cant see or touch love just like you cant see or touch god.

How do you answer that question?

First off, do you really believe in love? If so, what makes love believable and not god?

Obviously, I dont believe in god but I do believe in love. Why is that? Wheres the evidence? Whats your best defense?

I dont have a good answer. I think love is real because I can feel it, but many people would probably say the same about god.

Back me up give me a definition of love. Why is love real and god isnt?

The Prime minister has pledged a Wedgetail to support NATOs logistical support for the Ukraine War in which the E-7A will be based out of Germany on the same day that the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has agreed to the purchase of one-hundred Boxer heavy weapons carriers wroth one billion dollars making it one of the biggest arms deals in Australia history.

110723UPDATE ON THE SEA INCIDENT ON FEAD ISLAND
NEW DAWN FM NEWS/NEWS STATEMENT

The Autonomous Bougainville Government through the Disaster and Emergency Office would like to provide an update on the recent incident that occurred at Hauma Reef near Fead Island in the Bougainville Atolls.

On Thursday July 6, 2023, a team of 14 passengers embarked on a joint assessment operation on a fishing vessel that had run aground at Hauma Reef in Fead Island.

This assessment was part of the ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and integrity of fisheries operations in Bougainville.

The assessment operation involved a joint team of officers from the ABG Fisheries Directorate and the National Fisheries Authority.

The team reached Fead Island on Friday July 7, 2023 and proceeded to the site of the grounded vessel with intent to assess the reef and the vessel itself.

Three of the team members including two from the ABG Fisheries Directorate and one from the National Fisheries Authority attempted to
board the grounded vessel aided by floaters and a ladder rope, however only one was able to successfully board the vessel while the other two officers struggled to board due to the strong current and was carried away in the process.

On Saturday, July 8, at approximately 1:30PM, a radio call was made from Fead Island to the Bougainville Disaster Office in Buka reporting that of the three officers, two had swam to safety to a nearby sandbank while one was missing.

The Bougainville Disaster and Emergency Office is coordinating all search and rescue efforts and is working closely with the National Maritime Safety Authority, the National Fisheries Authority and all relevant ABG agencies.

The National Maritime Safety Authority (NMSA) has notified all shipping vessels traveling the Bougainville waters to be on alert.

The National Fisheries Authority have taken prompt action in organizing both sea and aerial surveillance search efforts, which commenced on Saturday July 8, 2023.

In addition, local boats from Fead Island have mobilized to assist with the search and rescue operations.

These coordinated efforts are focused on locating and rescuing the missing officer.

Our primary focus and concern remain the safety and well-being of all the individuals involved.

We appreciate the collaboration and support of the Bougainville Disaster and Emergency Office, NMSA, the National Fisheries Authority, and the local community in their swift response to this incident.

Their commitment and dedication to the search efforts are commendable, and we are grateful for their assistance.

The ABG through the Bougainville Disaster and Emergency Office is fully cooperating with all relevant authorities, providing them with any necessary information and resources to aid in the search and rescue operation.

Fire at powdered milk factory burns for 2 days in Australia "IndyWatch Feed National"

Firefighters will need to lift the roof off a powdered milk factory in order to extinguish a fire that has been burning for almost two days on the New South Wales South Coast. The factory in Bomaderry, north of Nowra, caught alight at about 1:30pm on Monday. Several employees attempted to fight the fire before Rural Fire Service and Fire and Rescue NSW crews took over. Shoalhaven Fire and Rescue Inspector Rick Jones said the factory was full of highly flammable powdered milk, which had prolonged the firefighting efforts. "The product itself is something that burns very fiercely, which was evident yesterday," he said.

Police reports indicate that thugs are mingling with the crowds and are preying on vulnerable victims, especially women and children.

Today, members of Sector Patrol Zone 200, ably supported by police personnel from Gerehu Police Station,  swept through several illegal markets set up near  the main commercial centre including the bus stop, and extended their operations across into Rainbow Estate, shutting down all illegal markets.

The police dispersed the illegal vendors before confiscating and destroying all their make-shift wooden tables used to sell bettelnut and food, in these public places.

The vendors suffered the wrath of the government today, after defying numerous warnings in the past.

The police had told them to take their produce to a properly designated market place, but they decided to stay.

A police man speaking on condition of anonymity said these illegal markets were shut down on numerous occasions in the past, but these defiant vendors kept returning.

"It is frustrating, but I guess we just have to keep at it, until they give up and stay away from these public venues, the policeman said.

"I know, people are struggling to survive in the city by resorting to selling bettelnut and food through the informal sector, but they must also learn to respect the laws.

"They must use the proper designated market places to sell their stuff," he said.

PNG Moves to finalize first-ever Biosecurity Bill "IndyWatch Feed Niugini"

The National Government under Prime Minister, James Marape, is keen on providing Bio-security cover for Papua New Guinea, and not just in the national security space.

Beginning today, the PNG National Agriculture Quarantine and Inspection Authority will host a four-day workshop, where stakeholders from Government, private sector and donor agencies will finalize the framework and construction of the countrys first-ever Biosecurity Bill.

Biosecurity involves safety of a nation, but usually that refers to measures aimed at preventing the introduction and or spread of harmful organisms to animals and plants in order to minimize the risk of transmission of infectious disease.

Because man depends on animals and plants for food, biosecurity requires national cohesion for survival as a nation.

NAQIA Managing Director Joel Alu said the event in Lae will be historical, signifying another leap in the nation's journey since independence.

Agriculture Minister and Goroka MP Aiye Tambua is determine to bring the Bill to Parliament for enactment sooner than later.

The new biosecurity legislation will establish legally enforceable mechanisms and principles to prevent the risk of introduction and spread of pests and diseases and protect the health of humans, animals and plants and natural resources generally.

It will also enable the country to meet its legal commitments under international agreements and harmonize its biosecurity measures with international standards and best practices.

It further captures and compliments biosecurity issues within the framework of Papua New Guinea and Australia proposed Bilateral Security Treaty, pursuant to the 2020 Comprehensive Strategic and Economic Partnership.

ABC National helps UDIA push to cover golf-courses with housing VIC "IndyWatch Feed National"

We predicted this would happen when the Vic government put developers in charge of and regional Victoria.  The seizure of these green public and private lands is now being normalised on public media. Affected and ordinary citizens are not being interviewed, or their community organisations, such as Planning Democracy, PPLVic, Sustainable Population Australia, only property developers, who are given an undeserved moral authority via the ABC, simply by promoting their opinion via interviews that allow them to justify overdevelopment and overpopulation without putting any of the obvious logical challenges to their false and self-interested arguments. Australians deserve more, much more from the ABC.

Max Shifman of the Urban Development Institute was interviewed on ABC Radio National 792 Brisbane today around 8.30 am about a push to develop golf courses in Melbourne's South Eastern suburbs - which would include the Mornington Peninsula. This interview used and abused the problem of Australian homelessness as an excuse to overturn hardwon community land and property rights that have to date prevented wholesale slaughter-planning.

Shifman, without any acknowledgement of the utter irony, pointed to the 'need to house new migrants' who he suggested don't want to live in high rise appartments - contrary to the Vic Government's current 'policies' to build this stylel of dwelling (e.g. activity centres)  - but would rather detached homes. (So would most Australians, Mr Shifman - but not at the price the developer industry likes.)

The obvious rejoinder to the mention of migrants needing such developments to live in was that surely we should be limiting migration if it is causing us to disrupt communities and wildlife.  No such comment. The ABC is so apparently corrupt with regard to pleasing the developer-led agenda.

Of course, we have massive population pressure due to the political pressure groups that have been brought to bear on our polity by the property developer institutes and their financiers, who have got government to engage with a huge expanding migration program.  So, the Urban Development Institute has a history of issuing press releases to justify mass migration, yet we all have to put up with the ABC acting as if mass migration has nothing to do with such interest groups.

Every time I turn on the ABC, they are advocating more housing, more mi...

PNG Prime Minister Marape directs all departments, agencies to align respective programmes and plans with MTDP IV "IndyWatch Feed Niugini"

PNG  Prime Minister Hon. James Marape  issued a directive on Sunday, 9 July 2023, mandating all Government departments and agencies to align their corporate plans and programs, with the Medium-Term Development Plan (MTDP) IV (2023-2027), which was launched on Friday, 7 July 2023, at APEC Haus, Port Moresby.

Under the directive, Prime Minister Marape stressed the importance of immediate action and the need for all departments and agencies to deliver tangible benefits to the people of Papua New Guinea, so that the targets of MTDP IV are achieved.

Prime Minister has instructed Chief Secretary Ivan Pomaleu to ensure that all Government departments and agencies operate under a unified plan for the next four years, and to ensure that their corporate plans are aligned with MTDP IV.

Prime Minister Marapes Pangu Pati participated in the 2022 elections with a primary focus on five key areas: fostering economic growth for achieving economic independence, developing vital infrastructure like Connect PNG, enhancing education, improving healthcare, and enhancing law enforcement.

All of these priorities align with Vision 2050 and are further consolidated in MTDP IV.

If they are currently midway through their corporate plans, they must realign them with MTDP IV. For those nearing the end of their corporate plans, new ones must be drawn up in alignment with MTDP IV and the Governments objectives.

Prime Minister Marape emphasized that the Governments objectives are not new and are aligned with Vision 2050, which was introduced by the late Sir Michael Somare in October 2009.

Papua New Guineas long-term goal, as outlined in Vision 2050, is to become a middle-income nation by 2050.

Between now and 2050, our fo...

This Harvard Professor Believes Hes Found Pieces Of Alien Technology In The Waters Off Of Papua New Guinea "IndyWatch Feed Niugini"

Avi Loeb, a professor at Harvard, is certain that he has identified possible relics of extraterrestrial technology in the debris of a meteor that crashed into the seas off the coast of Papua New Guinea in 2014.

The materials have recently been transported back to Harvard by Loeb and his colleagues for further examination. The United States Space Command is able to establish with an almost unshakeable confidence level of 99.999% that it originated from another solar system. The government provided Loeb with a radial distance of 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) around the possible landing site.

That is where the fireball took place, and the government detected it from the Department of Defense. Its a very big area the size of Boston, so we wanted to pin it down, said Loeb, We figured the distance of the fireball based off the time delay between the arrival of blast wave, the boom of explosion, and the light that arrived quickly.

Because of their calculations, they were able to plot out a possible course for the meteor. The results of their computations carved a course that occurred to pass exactly across the ten kilometer range that was predicted by the United States government.

Loeb and his team traveled to the location in a vessel known as the Silver Star. The ship made a number of laps both along and around the course that had been forecast for it. The researchers explored the ocean bottom using a sled that was loaded with magnets and was attached to their boat.

We found ten spherules. These are almost perfect spheres, or metallic marbles. When you look at them through a microscope, they look very distinct from the background, explained Loeb, They have colors of gold, blue, brown and some of them resemble a miniature of the Earth.

Their examination of the spherules composition revealed that they are co...
